This passed Sunday NFL receiver Hines Ward was taken out of the important game against the New England Patriots. His problem was he was diagnosed with a concussion after a hard hit. The reason this is become a problem was because he wanted to go back in the game but the doctors and team officials wouldn’t let him. The reason was his concussion. Now he has called out the NFL and said that the play should be able to decide if he can go back in and play in the game.
I am totally against what Hines Ward is saying to do. A doctor knows way more about health and concussions than plays do. They should be the judge on to wether let the player go back in the game or not. In most cases the player will obviously want to go back into the game especially if it is an important one. Doing this could cause even more serious injuries to a player and make the matters once. A concussion is all ready bad but if the player would get hit again, severe brain damage could be made. The NFL and teams have the right to hold players out because their safety and health is more important than anything.
I agree with Doug in that the doctors knowledge should be the determining factor. However, I am not against what Hines Ward said. I know that as a player I would want to be back in as soon as possible if I felt fine.

ReplyDeleteI agree with. A doctor definitely knows better then a player and a players health should top priority regardless on if the player wants to go in or not.
ReplyDeleteI agree with Doug. Doctors have a better understanding of health management then the players therfore they should have the final say wheteher the players go back in or not.
ReplyDeleteI agree with Doug because the NFL could be liable to a lawsuit if a player gets seriously injured. The should do everything they can to limit the injuries, especially the head.
