$10 Million for a Book... Really?

http://www.wishtv.com/dpps/news/strange/rare-audubon-birds-of-america-auctioned-for-10m-ob10-jgr_3671474

The worlds most expensive book listes at ten million dollars. The book is by John James Audubon. Its title is "Birds of America". It consists of pictures of birds.

Are you serious? Ten million dollars for a book of birds. That has to be the biggest waste of money anyone could ever spend. If someone is going to buy a ten million dollar book they should just give the money to a charity. What a waste of time, and money. Some people are just plain stupid to even think about buying a book that expensieve. I would never buy a book over a hundred dollars.

TCU joins the Big East

http://sports.espn.go.com/dallas/ncf/news/story?id=5862368

Texas Christian University has just recently joined the Big East conference in all athletic sports starting the 2012 academic year.

I personally believe this is a bad idea and a cry for help. Big East has teams that are located in New York and near the east coast. The athletic teams of TCU will have to travel hours for a game. Conference teams are supposed to be close to each other, having to travel all the way to New York from Texas is rediculous. I believe that it is a cry for help because they only want to join the Big East, who is horrible at football, so that they can easily win and get a BCS automatic bid. Boise State just joined their old conference and I belive TCU is scared and wanted to get out.

North Korea Attacks South Korea

http://www.wishtv.com/dpps/news/international/skorea-reports-2-civilian-deaths-in-nkorea-clash-wd10-jgr_3656865

The country of North Korea attacked their neighboring country of South Korea. There has always been disputes between the countrys. With this attack the tension has rised and more conflicts may come. The U.S. has said that they will support the South.

I believe that not only do the U.S. need to help the South but others do too. North Korea has nuclear missions and they can really effect the world. We as the world need to stop the North before lives are killed.

NFL Concussions

This passed Sunday NFL receiver Hines Ward was taken out of the important game against the New England Patriots. His problem was he was diagnosed with a concussion after a hard hit. The reason this is become a problem was because he wanted to go back in the game but the doctors and team officials wouldn’t let him. The reason was his concussion. Now he has called out the NFL and said that the play should be able to decide if he can go back in and play in the game.
I am totally against what Hines Ward is saying to do. A doctor knows way more about health and concussions than plays do. They should be the judge on to wether let the player go back in the game or not. In most cases the player will obviously want to go back into the game especially if it is an important one. Doing this could cause even more serious injuries to a player and make the matters once. A concussion is all ready bad but if the player would get hit again, severe brain damage could be made. The NFL and teams have the right to hold players out because their safety and health is more important than anything.

Drinks Banned

The state of Indiana has just recently banned the selling of high energy alcoholic drinks. These drinks are filled with the same amount of three beers and two energy drinks. They have been taken off the shelves because of how dangerous they are.
I personally believe that what the state did was a good thing. The drinks were filled with pure dangerous liquid. We don’t need people drinking stuff like this because it can cause extreme danger to the person consuming it and those around the consumer. The government needs to protect its people so they should have the right to take products off the market.

McDonald's Lawsuit

A Brazilian manager has recently sued the McDonald’s franchise for $17,500. The reason for the lawsuit is that the manager gained 29 kg over the 12years that the man was working there. The 32-year-old man says he was forced to sample food products each day to ensure that quality standards remained high because McDonald's hired "mystery clients" to randomly visit restaurants and report on the food, service and cleanliness. He also said that they were given free lunches which also contributed to the weight gain. The man did indeed win the case.
I for one, think this is the stupidest thing that I have ever heard when it comes to lawsuits. The guy is an idiot. All he had to do was quite his job, and go work at another fast food restaurant. It’s his entire fault for what happened to him so he shouldn’t have even worked there in the first place. Its McDonalds, its not like it is a huge job and that it is that big of a deal to find somewhere else to work. He was probably just trying to get a fast pay check.

BCS

The NCAA football program uses the BCS which ranks the top teams and ranks them to see who will play for the National Championship. A computer puts all the stats of teams and ranks them by using strength of schedule, and their actual record.
I believe that the NCAA shouldn’t use the BCS because it doesn’t allow the underdog teams to have a chance into getting to the National Championship. Boise State is always on the losing end of the deal because they have gone undefeated many times and can play in the championship because of their strength of schedule. They need to make it fair for everyone and should have a tournament for the best team in the country.

Thousands Rejected By IPS

Over the past week the Indianapolis Public Schools have not allowed thousands of students to attend school. There is a new vaccination policy that is now in effect for the public schools. If a student has not had his or her vaccinations, or has an excuse like health problems or religion, they are not allowed to come to school until they get the medicine. The Indianapolis area has been giving free clinics and free vaccinations for the past couple of months. Even with the free meds thousands haven’t received the meds. Some say it the parents fault and some say that they don’t need the vaccinations.

I personally believe that what the school system is doing is the right thing to do. They need to help protect their students and employees from sicknesses and other health problems. Those who have not received the vaccination yet have no one to blame but themselves. The parents are to blame for the ones who haven’t received the meds yet. They need to stop being lazy and take their kids to get medicated. The meds are free there is no excuse to why they shouldn’t have gotten them. The school system should be rejecting the students until they get the rights vaccinations.
